Hey R.O.C.K.ers,

I hope this email finds you and yours well and safe.  We seem to find ourselves in unchartered territory, and while the state of our world seems to change on a daily basis, I thought I would provide you with insight into what we are doing at this point in time.

Programs
As you may already know, all public schools in California have been closed down for the remainder of the school year.  Because the vast majority of our programs take place on school property, we have suspended our programs as well until we hear otherwise from the district.  Our community remains in our hearts and we are working with our schools to determine ways in which we can support our families (e.g. virtual learning, delivery of food, etc.).

Staff
Since the initial shut down of our programs, I am pleased to report that we have not had to lay off a single employee.  In fact, we have been able to pay our direct service staff 100% of what they would have made if they had been able to work.  Our managerial staff is working remotely and is determining ways to support our schools as well as planning for the summer and next school year.

Our goal is to keep our entire staff engaged and productive over the next few months so that we can avoid layoffs altogether.  With support from the City of San Francisco, San Francisco Unified School District, potential support from the new COVID-19 stimulus package and our reserves, we are hopeful that we can make this happen.

Please take care of yourself during this trying time and I am confident when this is all over, we will all come out of this stronger and more connected.

Feel free to reach out to me with any questions and I promise to get back to you at some point (I may be in the middle of wrangling my two wild boys ages 2 and 7).

Sincerely,

Curt Yagi
